The National Executive Council of the Health Services Workers Union (HSWU) of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has made a clarion call to government, the Ministry of Health and other policymakers to adequately resource health systems in the country to meet the “Abuja Declaration” to cure the no-bed syndrome.
Nigeria's Health Services Workers Union is calling on government and health officials to properly fund hospitals to address severe bed shortages. The union references the Abuja Declaration as a benchmark for adequate healthcare resources. The "no-bed syndrome" continues plaguing the nation's health system capacity.
